Concentric bilayer pattern GCA is considered when inflammatory cells are present in the adventitia and the tunica intima. Crucially, there is no infiltration of inflammatory cells into the tunica media.
This pattern of GCA is rare.
The infiltration by inflammatory cells can be focal or diffuse, involving the entire vessel wall circumference.
